Welcome! Wow can’t thank you enough for popping over to my little corner of the inter-web, so happy to have you here! I want to personally welcome you to my new lifestyle blog: My Informal Life. Yay!
The “I’s” you will be seeing refer to me, Mallory, Mal for short!
Mal, of my Infor-“MAL” life, get it?!
What can I say, I enjoy a good pun 🙂 I’m a full time stay-at-home mama to my two kiddos, Vera who is 4.5 and Landon who is almost 2. I’m also a portrait and wedding photographer here in the Twin Cities area.
I have always been a creator and an organizer. A real mashup of right and left brain tendencies. It dates back to my adolescence with my love of art and writing combined with my high school senior award as “most organized” (SO cool I know!) I’m so fueled by creativity which has worked it’s way into so many aspects of my life.
I was a blogger years ago as a creative outlet while working my corporate marketing job pre-wedding and kids (you can read more about my journey here). My professional life transitioned me into parenthood and photography and my creative lifestyle content found itself without a real “home”. Enter, me being just SO darn excited to launch My Informal Life to blog about the things that I’ve been wanting to share more in depth than a simply Instagram image and caption. I am quiet and soft-spoken by nature, but am long-winded in my writing (I wrote a 13-page story about an umbrella in 1st grade, true story). I strive for my blog posts to be easy reads, as if we were chatting about these “What have you been up to lately?!” topics over a coffee (mine would be a vanilla latte).
My Informal Life is a space where I can share more about the things I’m passionate about in my life that could somehow inspire others as well. Social media and the internet can be delicate worlds, where comparison so easily becomes the thief of joy. Not here, friends.
Here, it’s informal, always. It’s “I’m on my third-day of dry shampoo”, crumbs all over the floor, toddler throwing food, eating goldfish crackers for lunch type of informal.
So again, welcome! I have backloaded the blog with past projects and events that I’ve been so excited to share, and will be adding new content as much as I am able. So excited to have you here, grab a coffee and explore!
